Our Favorite AnkerMake Inspired 3D Accessories Direct From The Community

We love celebrating the talented people in our Make It Real community. And we can't think of a better way to do so than by compiling a list of fantastic AnkerMake inspired 3D prints.

Additionally, if you're looking for filament or a new M5 or M5C to add to your workshop, then check out some of the remarkable deals we have going onright now. Just click the green banner at the top of your screen and save yourself some cash.

Anyway, without further ado, let's get into the prints.

AnkerMake M5 Spool Holder

We're always amazed at what users come up with when it comes to printer modifications. Take this AnkerMake M5 Spool Holder mod by user SnooopDOGE for example. This mod adds a larger spool diameter for a little extra stability, and a set of bearings for a smooth spool rolling experience. SnooopDOGE recommends you use 22×8 bearings, and they suggest you might need to sand the original M5 spool holder rod down a bit. But once you do, you'll find your spools of filament gliding around without much resistance. Nice!

Spool Holder

Not feeling too keen on altering your original spool holder? No worries. We have options. This Spool Holder by Blake Douglas is meant to be attached to the upper portion of the M5 gantry. Got more than one spool? Not a problem. Blake has included a mirrored version of this holder that can be used to expand the spool storage on the M5 even further. Using these two holders together plus the one that came with your M5 means you'll be able to prop up a total of three rolls of filament.

Filament Guide

While you're at it, why not print this handy filament guide by Peter Martin to keep your filament flowing smoothly through your machine. This guide attaches to the original spool holder, and it angles the filament away from the printer a bit. This new approach angle provides a bit less stress on the extruder as it's trying to push filament into the hot end. It also keeps your filament from binding and tangling on itself.

PEI Sheet Hanger

Have a couple of PEI sheets for your AnkerMake printer? Here's an interesting way to store the extras created by Left-Hand3D. This PEI sheet hanger attaches to almost any surface with just a couple of screws. Then, you can use the hooks to hang the sheet via the holes in the PEI sheet. You might even be able to get away with some double-sided tape if it's particularly strong.

AnkerMake-Themed Scraper

In one of our last blog posts, we recommended that you not touch the PEI sheet with your bare hands, as it could cause printing issues. Instead, you should use a scraper like this AnkerMake Themed Scraper from MH Printing Fun. With a large hole in the end for hanging on the spool holder, and AnkerMake's signature M logo, we think this hanger looks pretty handsome. Print a couple of them, so you'll always have one handy.

M5 Anti-Vibration Feet

Keep vibrations at bay, and improve your print surface quality with these anti-vibration feet by Dieti With them, you can prop up your M5 to minimize any resonance that could affect your printing quality. These feet were originally meant to be used with squash balls, but Dieti has even included some additional ball-shaped attachments for those who would prefer not to spend any extra money.

M5 Homing End Stop Spacers

Planning on using your AnkerMake printer with an enclosure? These M5 Homing End Stop Spacers from Overall Makerworks will ensure your bed doesn't crash into that enclosure while homing. Print two, and set them under your M5 at the front. The distance they extend, will then give you a guideline for how far back your printer needs to be in your enclosure. This print is also available in a version with or without a logo, so pick the one that suits your preference.

AnkerMake M5 Tray

Who couldn't use a bit more storage? Well, if you own an M5, then Manni1972 has you covered. They've designed a tray that attaches directly to the front of the AnkerMake M5. You can use this tray to hold tools, filament scraps, or items that you need close at hand. Why didn't we think of this?!

Crosspiece Toolbox Holder

So, we're getting close to the end of our list here, but before we do, we have two more prints to go. Next up is this lovely toolbox holder for the M5, remixed and redesigned by Niko Caignie. If you require a secure spot to stash your tools, then there's really no better place than right on the front of your 3D printer. This toolbox holder attaches directly to the crosspiece just above the gantry. That way, your tools are easily accessible in case you need to perform maintenance or make some quick adjustments.

AnkerMake Branded PEI Surface Holder

For our last AnkerMake inspired print, we have this outstanding AnkerMake branded PEI surface holder designed by Ahmad Bin Matar. It's an entirely different design than the one mentioned before, but the raised logo and the 45-degree tilt set it apart. This is a PEI surface holder that you could almost use as a display piece. That's pretty cool if you ask us.
