With how much you pay for other printers like the Ender or Prusa, the AnkerMake is definitely giving you what you paid. The printer is great! The quality for how fast it prints is impressive.
Customer service is what really drove me to write this review though.
The printer stopped extruding for me after a couple weeks and Jack, from customer service, worked with me through every step (very patiently) to help me resolve the issue. They covered the cost of all replacement parts and shipping. Some of the best customer service I have ever encountered.
I expected some errors with a printer new on the market but they made dealing with it as easy as it could be. All you need is a little patience.
There are printers that are faster, and printers that are cheaper... but overall the amount of effort required to print is minimal and the fit and finish and overall ease of use for me were the key selling points.
I bought this printer knowing it was pretty low drama, and for the advertised print speeds (I never had the patience for prints that took 10s of hours). I've printed so many things with this printer at speeds well above recommended print speeds (for that model) and the end result was quite a bit better than printers even a year or two old.
I'm new to the hobby and don't need anything industrial. The AI functionality is hit and miss (seems to be dependent on printing filament with enough contrast from the print plate. Overall though I actually am not worried about it... because the M5 prints things so well even at speed. I tend to go dangerous in the sense I'll try printing complex jobs with no supports, brim, or anythign first... and if it fails add those things back... except even printing above recommended speed for some models more often than not results in successful prints.
Made the mistake of getting an Ender 3 max neo for my first printer. Had to do a ton of upgrades right out of the box. It was slow and big prints had 2 day print times and usually failed on the last few layers.
This is NOT that. Out of the box I popped a few screws in and was printing within an hour. It’s 10x as fast as I could print on the Ender. With better quality. No hassle. WiFi is great and being able to check the print from an app is so much better than nervously checking a print every 15 minutes. Again. Amazing.
I have no complaints. This thing looks great. You could keep it in your kitchen. It’s solidly and well built. If you need to upgrade the hotend it’s a 5 minute process vs a Saturday project with Ender. People mentioning the noise.. to me the perfect prints in 10% of the time is worth hearing a fan. I’ve been testing mine in the living room while watching tv. If you run other normal household appliances, that’s the comparison I’d make.
So worth it. Spent about the same on this as I did the Ender with upgrades. This thing is great. No hassle or stress.
I read all the reviews and watched the videos on this product and they weren't wrong. I own an M5 which was cheap and fun to get into the hobby but this printer is waaaaayyyyy better.
1. IT looks really nice and clean well put together and crisp
2. Magnetic plate bed is really helpful with large builds.
3.it came super quickly through AnkerMake without any problems
4. The resolution of the prints is far better than I was able to do before.
5. The speed is really impressive and the display updates and tells you what speed it is currently doing, which is cool.
6. The ai is cool, it isn't perfect but I'm sure iture updates will make it better. I bought it for all the other features so I'm not fussed.
Some people mentioned the fans being loud. All printers make noise, this one is marginally louder than the ender. It doesn't bother me at all and I have it on my office next to me, since it's like white noise it doesn't bother me or the family.
Also this printer was way cheaper than an prusa and I think think the quick install and software ai helper etc it's better value for money in my mind.
Hope this helps.
