This is a very nice piece of equipment. I recommend upgrade with all metal hot and I also would recommend to order an extra one to keep in your stock just in case you have a rainy day.

It seems like ever since I installed the new hotend that I’ve been having print issues where the filament stops

Globs of hot burnt filament

When the M5 works, I love it, but it doesn’t most of the time. Constant issues and repairs. I’ve spent twice as much repairing and creating a space that will theoretically allow it to print to no avail. After multiple issues with the hot end melting the blue plastic guide in the standard hot end, I ordered the all-metal hot end in the hopes of not having that issue any longer. Now it prints fine but also produces large glops of melted burned filament just above the print head which coats the hot end and all the adjoining pieces before dripping down onto the print and plate. I guess another $150 to replace the extruded and another $35 for the hot end and hope I’m not just wasting yet another $200 for three good prints.

All Metal Hotend Set

After upgrading this part my prints are coming out better. Unfortunately within the studio app there isn’t a way to make it default for future prints for the hotend set but a simple click or two works. Installation was simple followed instructions from a YouTube video and the article on AnkerMake website. Would like to see more videos on this simple upgrade for everyone can do it.

Installation was quite easy, considering that this printer uses all proprietary parts. The cables that needed to be unplugged were lightly hot glued but
it was still easy to unplug them though installation took about an hour and it works perfectly fine. I highly recommend getting this if you’re working with other filaments besides PLA.
